Aren't all stores in store pickup ?

You go there, you purchase and you receive the goods....perhaps you can elaborate on your need.

All stores have in store pick up . If you know what you want they will generally hold it for you and take payment over the phone with credit card. a sale is sale. Just ask them.
This sort of subject has been canvasses (endlessly) before. Clothing stores in particaular work on tight overheads and margins and need turnover, they will sell to anyone (really). The easiest and best is just pick out what you want and buy it.
Don't be embarressed to ask questions or ask to try it on, the vast majority of shop assistants don't worry and usually they don't care, they want the sale. For the young ones its a novelty and the older ones have usually dealt with TG's before and can be understanding and very helpful.

Its a real revalation when you get out there and start shopping, whether en femme or en drab for female attire and effects.
I am undertaking a beauty therapy course at TAFE and have now started buying good pro and top end make up ( no more quick grab and pay for BYS stuff) from make up suppliers and beauty counterers and it never ceases to amaze me how unphased staff are and will discuss make up and application etc at length with me .

Its really true the vast majority of our fears are in our own heads. Yes there will be some distastful incidents but if you are honest and straight forward so is every one else, and overwhelmingly the experience is positive for yourself and your own physche

All the best
Yvonne, (putting away the soapbox.)

Hi All,
I have to agree with Yvonne. I have never had any trouble in a store whether "dressed" or not. A sale is a sale and they are all desperate for sales.. And Supree sure have some good gear. Happy shopping

Hi all
In my experience being polite and asking for assistance with correct sizing, shade, shoes size etc generally disarms all but the red-necked shop assistant. In fact, the better ones will engage in chat about your preferences and I've picked up solid tips from these lovelies to the point where one has become a friend- she owns a boutique in the inner west and I have bought some chic outfits from her and she has where necessary had her dressmaker alter to perfection.
My worst experience was in Canberra where an old fossil of matriarch scowled at me as I browsed her racks of "fine lines" corsolettes and underwear. I asked to try a bustier in my size and she was brusque and told me the clothes were for ladies.
I left after thanking her for her intolerance and bigotry and wished her an prompt going out of business sale. WIthin a year she was out of business and scowling at me in the womens section of DJ's- I made a point of buying some nice lingerie and hosiery and had her gift wrap them for me. She was incensed and made a mess of the credit card transaction. I smiled sweetly as the young supervisor patiently took her through the process once more. As I was about to leave I asked the the scowler what shade of lipstick she wore as I fancied it for my self. The supervisor laughed and the scowler flushed with humiliation said it was a Dior shade. I then took myself off and bought the colour.
Be strong and look them in the eye. When they say "is it a gift?" you say one of several things: "Yes," or perhaps more honestly- "its for myself". Watch them acknowledge your candor and see if they stiffen in moral outrage or gesture kindly and then help- I'll wager the majority will do the latter.
As a way of delivery, if you buy on ebay why not rent a mail box and have your girlie stuff sent there. I do as I travel so much and its safer.
Happy shopping all
Regards
Trudy
ps Just back from China- with some nice shoes-had a struggle to find my size but managed to buy a very good knock-off oair of Christian Louboutains- usually 100's of $s- but A$50 for a sexy pair of strappy pumps- wow!

Hi Trudy, that is hilarious and one of the best revenge stories that I have ever heard.

I only shop enfemme, which I am more comfortable with. Shopping for girl things feels a bit creepy in male mode.

The only scowlers that I have come across are a minority of older women, usually much older than myself (I'm 62), however never any shop assistants, and I have found the ladies in DJs are exquisitively polite and respectful. I love shopping there. In fact, their politeness was almost a little disarming when I first started going out again a few years ago. They always concluded the credit card transaction with "thank you, Mrs [insert my male surname on my Amex card here]"

Hi All
The old boiler is no longer at DJ's- not their type after all- more a milk bar char me thinks!
Christine is right, they're rather good in there and very artful too. One of my favourites got me too try ROC products some years ago and they are my favourites now. Her advice being discretely given, words to the effect- 'My dear, your skin would benefit from this range of products, chuck the Clarins away! and "never but but never wear Youth dew, it will smell like a tom-cat on you!"- this said after taking my arm and having a sniff of my forearm! Very funny from this quaffed old love with a Sybil Fawlty hair do and eyebrows blackened like charred twigs.
SHopping is a thrill and I love it. Paradoxically, I hate shopping for the boy-mode clobber- wonder why?

Thanks everyone. Might give to mailbox thing a try.

Went to priceline today to get an epilator. Couldn't find them anywhere. So I ask the guy that works there do you have epilators? Reply: Whats an epilator.

I go well you seem to have heaps of electric shavers here in the mens section so where is the womans section. He showed me to the place I pick up an epilator and he had no interest what so ever in knowing what it was.

Then when I buy it he goes thats an expensive shaver like the guy had never seen $120 in his life.

But yeah he was looking at me heaps weird it was clear that he thought what was I doing in there. Female staff never looked twice at you in there. So i guess all the staff there have no interest in helping customers.

Best shop is David Jones and Myer. I've bought some stuff for my mum there and they pretty much run up grab you go "what do you need?" and you go "I've got no idea she wants this thingo" and they explain everything and try and sell you more stuff.

Sorry to rant but I actually hate shopping lol.
