Possible Forum styles

Postby Christine Parker » September 22nd, 2015, 10:41 pm

Here is a selection of some possible slightly more femme styles that might be suitable:

"Maroon Fusion" Rather pink and too girlie?
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/tara/demo/3.0

"Reds" Maybe a little to harsh?
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/reds/demo/3.0

"redsteel" Another red theme
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/redsteel/demo/3.0

"Jardin Techologique" Very femme and flowery, maybe too busy? I quite like it.

"Proglass Red" Too red?
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/proglassred/demo/3.0

"Cerulean" What about blue?
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/cerulean/demo/3.0

"610nm" Orange and brown? Orange is a bit like the main website, but its not really working for me.
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/610nm/demo/3.0

"Xand" Another orange theme, but better than the one above:
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/xand/demo/3.0

Pro Ribbons: Blue with red. Not sure about that

AZ Retro: I don't mind this one:

"Gerbang Kasih" Definitely over the top! I put this one in as a joke!
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/gerbang_kasih/demo/3.0

Static: Simple, but striking black and orange
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/static/demo/3.0

Modestus: Now, I quite like this. Clean and tidy, good simple graphics

Sorry, folks, that link was to Tara:

Maroon Fusion is this one:
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/maroon_fusion/demo/3.0

Tara is here:
https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/tara/demo/3.0

Personally, I think Tara is too much like the old forum.

I have been having trouble working out how to install the new templates. I recall doing it a couple of years back. However, the new ones are not showing up in the control panel where you select a template. I am probably making some sort of basic mistake.

OK, I think I have worked out the problem.

Our forum software is version 3.1. That means that trying to add a style template is are for versions 3.0 or lower, will not work.

This limits the choices considerably.

I will go through their database and see which ones might work for us.

If it was up to me there would be some pink in there somewhere.

Maroon Fushion looks good. :D

"Maroon Fusion" Rather pink and too girlie?

Unfortuantely, that was not the answer tp the problem and I am still stumped.

I have read the FAQ and I believe that I have followed the steps correctly, but I will try again

Ahah!

I was right the first time. The style version MUST be compatible with board version, which is 3.1.6

However there are a limited number of 3.1.6 styles available.
