This One Time

This one time I bought a dress,

This one time I did confess.

Be true to me,

And do not lie.

Be true to me,

And live my life.

I am a woman,

Through and through.

I cannot deny,

A feeling true.

My early years,

Confused and strange.

So unaware,

Of where to aim.

The life planned,

Was not for me.

I didn’t know,

How this could be.

Dark depression,

And deep loathing.

For what I was,

Not the man evolving,

To what my parents,

Thought I’d be.

So I decided,

To just be me.

And this one time,

I bought a dress.

Thanks Carly,
I am trying to find all of my older poems that I have written during my transition and intend to give them to the magazine.
